Speaking to the Future: Dr. Oseji’s Timely Message to Fresh Undergraduates

The Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji was one of several eminent speakers at the orientation programme for fresh students admitted into Dennis Osadebay University for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. The Head of Service who sensitised the matriculants on  Preventing HIV/AIDS, Preventing Drug Abuse and Promoting Food Supply also recollected that it was hours after she gave a similar talk on Monday 24th March 2025 that she received the heartwarming announcement of her appointment as the next Head of Service in Delta State.

Dr. Oseji explained to the students what roles they could play in the development of society and encouraged them to support the formation of a health club in their institution which which could provide a forum for peer educators to use the natural influence of peers on each other to achieve positive behavioural change and dissemination of correct information about issues of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Organisations mobilised to the institution to share fliers as well as provide free HIV test included Berachah Community Clinic with sponsorship from Onyeoma Emmanuel Help Foundation – USA, Berachah Community Clinic, Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECWES) and State Agency for Control of AIDS (SACA).

After the orientation, Dr. Oseji accompanied by the Special Assistant to the Head of Service, Mrs. Mabel Emerure and the Assistant Coordinator Student Affairs Mrs. Perpetual Ekpeni paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Ben Ohhojafor.
