MWAN held her first NEC meeting of the 2019-2021 Biennium

The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, MWAN held her first NEC meeting of the 2019-2021 Biennium in Aba, ABIA State with the theme ” Security issues, Nigerian Women in Focus” from the 5th to 8th of December 2019.

The meeting was preceeded by a medical outreach at the State Secondary School Education Board, Aba where several clients were seen. Participants had their blood Pressure, urine and blood sugar checked. Free consultations and drugs was also given to all that participated. The outreach was preceeded by free medical education and awareness campaign on free and safe blood donation.

The NEC was declared open by the State Governor represented by his deputy. While the key note address was given by Justice Ory Jik-Ikeora.

Highlight of the opening ceremony was the reception of Medical Women’s International Association President, Dr ELEANOR NWADINOBI, the first Nigerian International President who incidentally hails from ABIA State.

Following the opening formalities,members of the Executive council held her meeting with 20 of the 33 State branches present.
